The second largest Italian island, separated from the mainland by distance of less than 200 kilometers. Known especially for its beautiful beaches, which are considered to be the most beautiful in Italy at all and it is no wonder. Their diversity and colorfullness are truly breathtaking, perhaps because of the fact that Sardinia became a visited place for celebrities and VIPs who have chosen a place near Olbia called Costa Smeralda – the emerald coast. During the season, amazing ships and yachts from all over the world arrive, mostly to its\u00a0 famous town Porto Cervo that was built from the money of an Arab Sheikh by the Roman architect Michel Busirim Vici, who impressed the unforgettable arcade silhouette of a charming center with luxury shops and restaurants and also one of the most expensive hotels in the world, overlooking the entire resort from adjacent rocks. The island, thanks to its strategic location in the Mediterranean Sea, was constantly occuppied by the various nations which have left their heritage on it. Sardegna does not offer many monuments but plenty of interesting and mysterious sites that are the remains of the original settlements. Nuraghe – typical buildings that we find on the island and there are more than seven thousands,\u00a0 attract visitors from around the world. Exciting are also boat trips: nobody will miss a trip to Maddalena archipelago with clear cyan water or to the nearby island of Corsica. Attractive is also inland: the mountainous character of Barbagia, with its typical traditions and specialities. But on the island you can taste also\u00a0 the right local specialities: porcetto, pasta, sheep cheese, typical bread called Carasau and, of course, plenty of fish and seafood (excellent and famous lobster). But local desserts or fine wines such as white Vernaccia and red Cannonau are also worth to taste.<\/p>\n
